“This Was My Life: Nick Menza’s Metal Memories with Megadeth and Beyond” is a feature length documentary film that explores the life, music, and enduring legacy of Nick Menza, the legendary drummer best known for his work with the thrash metal band Megadeth. Known for his explosive drumming style, Menza contributed to some of the band’s most celebrated albums, including Rust in Peace and Countdown to Extinction.
The film offers an intimate look at not only his career in music, but also who he was as a son, a brother, an uncle, and a friend. The film was directed by Holly Grayson of Screaming Butterfly Entertainment, and features rare footage, and exclusive interviews with Nick’s family, friends, and fellow musicians. Alongside the Menza family, David Ellefson of Ellefson Films and Nick’s manager Robert Bolger also lended their talents in the role of Producers.
Through touching personal anecdotes and rare footage, the documentary celebrates Nick’s life, his lasting impact, and the bond he shared with friends and family Known for his humor, generosity, and passion for art and music, Menza left an unforgettable impact on everyone around him.
